Owning an old home can be a labor of love. When remodeling or adding an addition, you can run into unforeseen circumstances. So many problems can arise, such as: wood-rot, a lack of insulation, or old wiring, you just never know what you’ll run into. I know this firsthand from my current historic home remodel. The wood rot was pretty extensive, so much so that an extra day of unexpected labor was added in order for the wood rot to be repaired. New insulation has been installed, plywood has been added with Tyvek. Now all that’s left is for the hardie-plank to be installed. If you are thinking about buying a historic home, Call me 267-397-6291. I would be happy to help guide you through the process.
